Who we are

Because hope grows when we grow together.

A movement of care built one mother at a time — from a single act of compassion to a national network of dignity and support.

Our story

From one hand
to many.

Zenazi was born from a simple idea: that no mother should face early motherhood alone. What began as one act of compassion — a mother sharing with another — has become a movement of care across South Africa.

Through the Circle of Hope Bag and our broader support programmes, Zenazi is building a national network of love and dignity, one mother at a time.

The symbol of open hands

A universal gesture of care.

Across every culture, open hands speak one language: support. They remind us that we all have a hand to lend in building stronger beginnings.

Beyond the bag

Three pillars. One circle.

The bag is the entry point. Lasting change happens through interconnected pillars of immediate care, ongoing guidance, and community empowerment.

  • Immediate care & essentials

    Nurture

Every Circle of Hope Bag delivers dignity at the moment of birth — practical essentials and emotional reassurance for mother and newborn alike.

  • Health & connection

    Guide

We connect new mothers to clinics, counsellors and child support resources — partnering with social workers for holistic, ongoing care.

  • Growth & community

    Empower

Long-term mentorship, skills development, community circles and education on early childhood nutrition and parenting build futures, not just moments.

The Circle of Hope Bag

Care, comfort, and encouragement.

Thirty-two curated essentials for mother and baby, carried in a reusable duffel that lasts long beyond the hospital stay.

The need

A small bag.
A powerful beginning.

When a mother gives birth in a private hospital, she receives a small starter pack — nappies, wipes, a blanket, a moment of care. For thousands of mothers in rural and public hospitals, that moment never comes.

  • Pregnancy gets the attention. Childbirth is left unprepared. Most prenatal care doesn't reach the moment of arrival — when dignity matters most.
  • Rural communities face compounding challenges. In eMampondweni, poverty, unemployment, gender-based violence, teenage pregnancy and alcohol abuse intersect with maternity.
  • A bag is a bridge — to dignity, and to ongoing support. Each pack is the entry point to a wider network of healthcare, counselling and community.
What's inside

Thirty-two essentials. One bag of dignity.

Each Circle of Hope Bag is carefully curated for both mother and baby. The reusable duffel doubles as a nappy bag — lasting utility well beyond the hospital stay.
